ADVENTURE TOUR PROGRAM

 

 

Tour Code: A-HRT-001(B)- Adventure in Northern Myanmar

(13 Days / 12 Nights)

YANGON-PUTAO-UPPER SHAUNG GAUNG-WAZADAM-AWADAM-ZIYADAM-CHAUNGSONE CAMP-BIG TREE CAMP-YEKHE AHSAT CAMP-PHONGAN SUMMIT-YEKHE AHSAT CAMP-BIG TREE CAMP-CHAUNGSONE CAMP-ZIYADAM-AWADAM-WAZADAM -UPPER SHAUNG GAUNG-PUTAO-YANGON / MANDALAY

Day.1 Yangon (arrival by morning flight)
Arrive in Yangon on morning flight, check into hotel and have a tour briefing. Afternoon go sightseeing downtown Yangon including a visit to the Shwedagon Pagoda. Rest of the day at your leisure. Dinner and overnight in Yangon.

Day. 2 Yangon - Putao - Upper Sangaung (by morning flight & car)
After breakfast, transfer to airport for Putao by flight (Air Bagan operate Tue, Thu, Fri, Sun). Putao the northern most district town of Myanmar formerly known as Fort Hertz. Upon arrival transfer to guest house and take a break. In the afternoon,look around the town and proceed to Upper Sangaung village,the last village where a car can drive and is the beginning of the trek to Northern Myanmar. It is a large Rawang village with 150 huts and 800 villagers, having a hydroelectric power for the night.Have dinner and overnight at this village.

Note: Yangon - Putao = by domestic flight, Putao - Upper Sangaung = 1 hour by car, 19km

Day.3 Upper Sangaung Village-Wazadan Village (by trekking)
After breakfast, start the trekking to Wazadan village; on the way, we will pass through Mt.Sly Mardin (6000 ft) but we will cross over the shoulder at 5000ft.We will arrive to Wazadan village after spending (appr:9 hours by walking). It's a small Rawang village with 15 huts. We will spend the night at Wazadan village in a wooden house with our sleeping bags. From this point, daily meals, drinks will be provided by our crews and porters.

Note: Upper Sangaung - Wazadan village = 10km, 1000 meter above the sea level

Day.4 Wazadan - Awadam - Ziadam ( by trekking)
We start trekking in the morning, the first part of the trek is relatively flat walking through some secondary forest alongside a small river, but the second part is through pristine forest with some steep climbing and gulley crossings - this is hard work. After 3 hours trekking, we will arrive at Awadam village which is on a mountain range. We then continue to walk on relatively flat terrain (sometimes with short steep climbs) until we reach a village called Ziadam. There will be some river crossings today, most of them waist deep but temporary bamboo bridges will be built across by our advance team. Ziadam is the last frontier village on the tract situated on the bank of Zia River, and about 1100 meters in elevation.Before reach to the Ziadam village you will have to cross Zia creek by Suspicion Bridge. The night is spent in a bamboo house in the village.

Note: Wazadan - Ziadam = 21km, 1100 meter above the sea level. There are 15 huts, 100 villagers in Awadam village (A)- 9 huts, 45 villagers in Awadam village (B) and 20 huts, 120 villagers in Ziadam village. We have to cross two bridges, one is between Wazadam - Awadam(A) and the other between Awadam(B) - Ziadam.  You can see the Icy mountain from Ziadam village. Rawang and Lisu tribes are living in these villages.

Day.5 Ziadam - Thit Pin Gyi Camp (by trekking 20km)
The track from Ziadam to Chaungzone camp, is also quite easy walking on flat terrain although with some short steep ups and downs. The first part of the track is through a thick evergreen forest ascending gradually until we reach the Namlam river. We then walk along the river leaving human inhabitant behind. Today you have to cross Phangran creek with temporary bridge.
Today's trekking is the hardest portion. After walking across the flood plain of Namlam river we will start walking up a ridge. There will be steep climbing, on the first part but after reaching the top of the ridge the slopes will become gentle although with occasional short steep climbing. Thit Pin Gyi Camp is situated at about 1900 meters, which is the elevation the snow starts to fall.Overnight at this camp.

Note : Ziadam - Chaungzone camp = 2:30 hours, Chaungzone camp - Thit Pin Gyi camp = 3 hours

Day.6 Thit Pin Gyi Camp - Khan Tauk Myint camp (by trekking)
This camp is called ‘‘ Khan-tauk-myit ’’ camp, named after a traditional herb which grows there and is useful in curing many kinds of illnesses. The camp is situated on a ridge and we spend the night in tents.

Note : 5:30 hours for trekking, 2500 meter above the sea level

Day.7 Khan Tauk Myint - Yekhe Ahsat Camp (by trekking)
After breakfast, proceed to Yekhe Ahsat Camp. You will have to find the right spot to pitch your tents. Lunch on the way, dinner and overnight at this camp.

Note : 5:30 hours for trekking, 3100 meter above the sea level

Day. 8 Yekhe Ahsat camp - Mt. Phungam summit - Yekhe Ahsat camp (by trekking)
Depends on the Ice condition on the peak it may take between 3 - 7 hours to get to the summit <3506 meter>. If the weather is nice you could stay about an hour so but if there is rain storm them you may hold on up to 30 min and return back to Ice camp. Lunch on the way, dinner and overnight at camp.

Note : 5 hours to summit

Day. 9 Yekhe Ahsat camp - Big Tree camp (by trekking)

Day. 10 Big Tree camp - Ziyadam (by trekking)

Day. 11 Ziyadan - Wazadan (by trekking)

Day. 12 Wazadan - Upper Saunggaung - Putao (by trekking & car)

Day. 13 Putao - Mandalay/Yangon (flight)
After breakfast, free at leisure (or) visit the tranquil town of Putao with Myoma local market and downtown area. And transfer to Putao airport and fly back to Mandalay.

Breakfast at hotel and rest of the morning at your leisure. Afternoon transfer to airport for your Yangon bound flight. Upon arrival at Yangon transfer to hotel.
